North West law firm, SAS Daniels LLP, has achieved its best ever rankings in national legal guides, Chambers UK and The Legal 500.
Rankings in Chambers UK and The Legal 500 are key to the firm’s credentials, recognising the firm’s specialist teams, based solely on merit, and reinforcing its proposition as ‘No ordinary law firm’.
The Chambers Guide ranks both lawyers and law firms based on the research of 150 full time editors and researchers, while The Legal 500 is also viewed as a go-to guide for those choosing a law firm and reflects work delivered between January and December 2013.
Jonathan Whittaker, (pictured left), Senior Partner at SAS Daniels, commented:
“We’re thrilled to have exceeded our 2013 rankings in both prestigious legal guides, achieving recognition for our expertise across the disciplines in which we specialise.
“Our rankings are testament to the firm’s mission and values which support a compelling strapline ‘No ordinary law firm’. This runs through our very core and is embraced by our expert teams to ensure a memorable and refreshing client experience. The approach has been integral to SAS Daniels’ success, underpinned by strategic growth and record annual billings.”
This year’s Chambers UK rankings saw four legal specialists at SAS Daniels achieve recognition; Andrew Clark (Real Estate), Bi-Ki Irving (Private Client), Jonathan Whittaker (Employment) and Kaye Whitby (Corporate/Mergers and Acquisitions).
Bik-ki Irving, the Head of Wills & Wealth Planning was ranked in the ‘Up and Coming’ category while newly recommended Real Estate Partner Andrew Clark was described as being ‘very astute at picking up all of the commercial points that are important’ and the firm’s Senior Partner Jonathan Whittaker stated as being ‘absolutely excellent’.
The firm is listed in Chambers UK for Corporate and Real Estate in Chester and surrounding areas, Employment, Family and Matrimonial, Private Client and Real Estate in Manchester and Court of Protection: Property & Affairs UK-wide. This results in two additional rankings for Court of Protection:
‘Property & Affairs UK-wide and for the Corporate team, Chester and surrounds’.
The firm maintained their existing rankings from last year, demonstrating true specialisms in the market.
Chambers UK described the firm’s Private Client team as being ‘friendly and open with a personal touch which was lacking in other practices used’ while the Employment team was applauded for ‘having direct contact with experienced solicitors’ and providing clients with ‘tailor made solutions’.
SAS Daniels has also surpassed its 2013 rankings in The Legal 500 on both a firm-wide and individual basis, maintaining its existing rankings and also gaining a new recommendation for Dispute Resolution. Individual rankings have increased to 11, with new entries this year for Kaye Whitby (Corporate and Commercial), Chris MacCafferty (Commercial Litigation) and Andrew Clark (Commercial Property).
Editors and researchers from The Legal 500 praised the firm for providing ‘nimble, proactive and astute advice’ on residential retail and commercial development matters, while the Private Client Team was applauded for its ‘professional approach.’ Newly recommended, Chris MacCafferty, who heads up the firm’s Dispute Resolution Team, was noted as ‘a good tactician and a tenacious litigator’.
With a growing team of over 70 legal advisors, including 23 partners, SAS Daniels operates out of offices in Stockport, Macclesfield, Chester and Congleton.
