Stockport and Cheshire law firm, SAS Daniels, has begun its fundraising for its chosen charity for 2025 with a gruelling March for March challenge.
The March for March challenge has seen the law firms’ colleagues dust off their walking boots and encouraged to accumulate a total number of steps throughout the month that equates to climbing three globally renowned mountains, K2, Mount Everest and Kangchenjunga – a total of 260,470 steps.
So far, the firm has raised an impressive £1,127 for its chosen charity for the year, Space4Autism. Based close to SAS Daniels’ Macclesfield office, Space4Autism, specialises in offering a range of activities, workshops and classes for autistic children/young people, adults and their respective families from an all-inclusive hub, encouraging a safe space for everyone to express themselves and learn key skills in a holistic environment.
Alongside fundraising activities throughout the year, SAS Daniels will continue to highlight autism with internal campaigns and initiatives to educate colleagues on the subject. This Autism Awareness Day (2 April), team members will don blue outfits to the office where they will also be greeted with a cone of blue sugar-free sweets, accompanied by a note explaining the impact sugar has on someone with autism. In addition, there will be an opportunity for staff to listen to a podcast about neurodiversity in the workplace, enabling them to better support their colleagues.
Jeremy Orrell, chief executive officer, SAS Daniels commented:
“With four offices situated across Cheshire, we are dedicated to supporting our local communities and making a positive impact on those living and working within them, something which charitable endeavours are an integral part of.
“We are delighted to announce our selected charity of the year, a decision that is never an easy one to make. The success of our March for March fundraiser has paved the way for a good year of fundraising at SAS Daniels for Space4Autism, and we look forward to continuing our fundraising efforts and spreading awareness for autism with the same passion throughout the year.”
Cheryl Simpson MBE chief executive officer at Space4Autism said:
“I was overwhelmed when SAS Daniels chose Space4autism as their charity of the year, it really does mean a lot when local companies support us as not only does this raise awareness of autism within their organisation but also helps us keep our space ship flying, I would like to say a huge thank you on behalf of everyone at Space4Autism”
