Stockport and North-west law firm, SAS Daniels, has welcomed guest speaker Cheryl Simpson MBE, CEO of Space4Autism – the firm’s 2025 Charity of the Year – to its most recent Business Breakfast event.
The event, hosted by SAS Daniels’ Macclesfield office at Macclesfield Football Club, of which the firm is a proud sponsor, brought together members of the local business community for a morning of networking and insight. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with fellow professionals, hear about local developments, and speak with members of the SAS Daniels team, all while enjoying hot beverages and breakfast.
During her talk, Cheryl shared the remarkable and inspiring work that Space4Autism is doing to support over 10,000 individuals and families affected by autism, including the recent opening of a new charity shop that provides valuable workplace experience for adults with autism.
As part of its ongoing support for the charity, SAS Daniels has organised and participated in a range of fundraising activities. Most recently, colleagues across the firm participated in the Office Olympics, a series of Olympic-style challenges including paper plane javelin, paper shotput, rubber band archery, typing sprint and paperclip relay, raising £300 for the Charity of the Year.
In another fundraising effort, team members Steven Percy, Matthew Ottley and Carson Mwabari, took on Macclesfield Beating the Bounds, a local event steeped in tradition featuring a 21-mile walk tracing the town’s boundary. Participants were invited to raise money for one of six local charities, including Space4Autism, with the SAS Daniels team collectively raising more than £500.
Speaking at the event, Cheryl Simpson MBE, CEO and Co-Founder of Space4Autism said:
“Thank you to SAS Daniels, who are not only supporting us as their charity of the year, but they also got the lease through for our charity shop on Chestergate very quickly – I think in around one week! We’ve opened the charity shop to give confidence and skills to our autistic adults – 80% of autistic adults don’t work, and this isn’t because they can’t, so we want to showcase what these adults can do.”
Justine Clowes, business owner, partner and joint head of Macclesfield office commented:
“It is always a pleasure to celebrate the success of our popular Business Breakfast, which once again received such a fantastic response from the local business community. At SAS Daniels, we understand the importance of building strong connections with our localities; the business breakfast provides not only a valuable networking platform but also helps to shine a light on the inspiring work of local causes such as Space4Autism.
“As our chosen Charity of the Year, we’re proud to continue supporting Space4Autism beyond this event through a variety of fundraising activities and initiatives across the firm.”
