Three-star hotel and events venue in Stockport, the Alma Lodge Hotel has been sold, agents Christie & Co have confirmed.
The hotel, off the A6 near Stockport town centre, has been sold to new owners for its asking price of £2.75 million, who plan to bring the business back to pre-Covid performance quickly in the coming months. Owned and operated by the Tavini family for over 20 years, the owners have chosen to sell in order to retire and spend more time with loved-ones.
Built in the 1860s, the 52-bedroom hotel is a popular events venue in Stockport for both business functions and private events that can be hosted in its five conference and events rooms, the largest of which accommodates up to 250 attendees.
Ryan Lynn, Director in Christie & Co’s Corporate Hotels team handled the sale. He commented:
I’m very happy to have been involved in the sale of Alma Lodge. We have been working on the deal for a while now and despite such an uncertain time, the sale has gone through after a lot of hard work from all involved, suggesting the resilience of the sector. We wish the previous owner, Karl and his family all the best for a well-earned break and the best of luck to the new owners moving forward with the business.”
