A new Sainsbury’s Local convenience store has opened on Woodford Road in Bramhall, relocating from the previous premises on Village Square.
The Village Square store closed earlier this week, with all 17 colleagues now working from the new shop, which was opened on Thursday 23rd Februrary by local councillor, Cllr Mike Hurleston. The new store repurposes the former Barclays Bank in Bramhall’s district centre which closed in July 2021.
The new store, at 4,115 sq ft, is over 1,000 sq ft larger than the previous Village Square Sainsbury’s Local, allowing customers to benefit from a wider range of everyday staples. The shop will also offer a click-and-collect services for Argos, Habitat and Tu Clothing goods purchased online. The new location will also allow the store to open an additional hour everyday, with new opening times of 7am to 11pm, Monday through Sunday, in line with other Sainsbury’s Locals nationwide.
Patrick Dunne, Sainsbury’s property director, said:
“We’re delighted to introduce our customers in Bramhall to this stylish new incarnation of the Sainsbury’s Local that has already served the community for nearly nine years. I hope local and visiting customers alike will enjoy the added convenience and choice the store will provide following our investment and I look forward to hearing what they think.”
Nicola Phythian, Sainsbury’s Bramhall Woodford Road Local store manager, said:
“We’re excited to be showcasing our fantastic new store for the first time today, where customers will be able to enjoy the same brilliant service from the same great team. I’d like to thank our colleagues along with everyone else that has supported us for all their hard work to ensure today’s relaunch has been a success.”
