Irish airline Ryanair has added 8 more routes to its 2016 winter schedule, following last week’s news that a further 3 new routes will be added to the German cities of Berlin, Hamburg and Nuremberg.
The 8 new winter services announced today will fly to Bratislava, Carcassonne, Limoges, Malta, Murcia, Palma, Paris and Valencia, and more flights on 10 existing routes.
The new routes will see Ryanair grow by 33% at Manchester Airport, deliver 4.1m customers annually and support 3,100* jobs. The new winter 2016 schedule will deliver 201 weekly flights to 34 destinations.
Ken O’Toole, Managing Director at Manchester Airport said: “We are pleased to see one of our largest carriers add new routes and increase frequency at Manchester Airport.
“The introduction of flights to Nuremberg, where Ryanair will be the only carrier on the route, has been widely welcomed by key corporates in the North West and will see further growth in business and inbound tourism from a key strategic European market.
“The additional choice, accessibility and availability from winter 2016 will be well received by the 22m people in our catchment area, which spans as far north as Scotland and as south to the West Midlands.
“Furthermore it is pleasing to see the additional jobs created by Ryanair’s growth and further illustrates the positive impact of a growing Manchester Airport in supporting economic growth for the region.”
Ryanair will continue to connect Manchester with Europe’s major centres of business for both business and leisure customers and is set to introduce a new look in the cabin.
Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Officer Kenny Jacobs said: “We are pleased to launch our Manchester winter 2016 schedule, which includes 3 new routes to Berlin, Hamburg and Nuremberg, and 8 new winter routes to Bratislava, Carcassonne, Limoges, Malta, Murcia, Palma, Paris and Valencia, as well as extra flights on 10 other Manchester routes, which will deliver 4.1 million annual customers and support 3,100 jobs at Manchester Airport.
“Our 106m customers can look forward to further improvements, as we continue our “Always Getting Better” programme, which includes more new routes, a new app, new cabin interiors and new crew uniforms.
“To celebrate the launch of our Manchester winter 2016 schedule, we are releasing 100,000 seats for sale across our European network from just £19.99, which are available for booking until Monday (22 Feb). Since these amazing low prices will be snapped up quickly, customers should log onto www.ryanair.com and avoid missing out.”
