Inspired by the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012, Stockport based creative Aqua Design Group’s competition on Twitter to promote women in business has gone from strength to strength.
The campaign, #QueenOf day, was a weekly competition that ran throughout the year. It has proved so popular that it has continued ever since.
In the beginning there were only 2 winners a week but has now increased to four winners a week. It has also been joined by #KingOf day to promote men in business, though this is still finding it’s feet.
The competitions have brought success to its winners in a variety of ways, from increased traffic to their websites, increased follower numbers on Twitter, press coverage in their local press and industry related publications. It has also enabled them to tap into the knowledge base of fellow winners through networking on Twitter with #RoyalConnectionHour and the LinkedIn and Facebook groups.
With the introduction of the winners website, Aqua Design Groups #QueenOf and #KingOf winners can promote their businesses and work through and online portfolio, social media links to their various platforms. The winners’ website gives visitors an insight into how each of their businesses started.
The promotion doesn’t stop there as Aqua Design Group actively promotes past winners in the form of retweets and linking to their winners profiles in posts across social media. You can find out about past winners and how your business can enter by visiting the winners’ website
Dylan Moore, owner of Aqua Design Group commented:
“With the competition now having over 500 #QueenOf winners crowned since its beginning in 2012, it’s still hard to believe how far the competition has come from starting off with just awarding a Twitter Badge to its winners.”
