Robinsons Wines, part of the Robinson family of brewers in Stockport, have secured two new exclusive UK wine partnerships with two James Halliday acclaimed Western Australian producers Ashbrook Estate and West Cape Howe.
The selected wines from both producers will be available across Robinsons 300-strong estate of pubs across the North West, Wales and Cumbria from early December and through off trade sales through the brewery.
Located in the heart of the world-renowned Australian wine region of Margaret River, Ashbrook Estate focus on producing only premium, handcrafted varietal wines with a focus on sustainable vineyard practices. The vineyard and estate have been owned and operated by the Devitt family for over forty years with the third generation now in control of the operation of the business.
Kingsley Edwards, Owner of Ashbrook Estate said: “As a third-generation business with a history in Australia’s South West dating back over 100 years, we believe Robinsons Brewery, as a sixth-generation family company is the ideal union to promote our range of premium wines.
“We are very pleased to have partnered with Robinsons as the sole importers and distributors of our wines in the UK. This is an exciting time for us and we look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.”
West Cape Howe, who was recently awarded ‘Best Value Winery of the Year’ at the Halliday Wine Companion Awards, also joins Robinsons extensive roster of award-winning vineyards with a selection of wines produced in some of the oldest vineyard resources in Western Australia. Founded in 1997, West Cape Howe has become synonymous with quality wines thanks to their organic principles in the vineyard and their state-of-the-art winery.
“We are very excited at the opportunity to be represented in the UK by Robinsons Brewery” said Gavin Berry, Winemaker and Managing Director of West Cape Howe. “Robinsons vision and commitment to sourcing the best wine possible from Australia’s best regions will provide great diversity and value to our offer and align perfectly with our long-term strategy.”
Noel Reid, Wine Buyer for Robinsons said: “We are very happy to be working with two truly world class Western Australian producers. The addition of West Cape Howe and the boutique Ashbrook winery will add a further layer of forward thinking producers to our portfolio.
