Frederic Robinson, Stockport based brewers and pub owners, are delighted that one of their pubs, the family run George and Dragon in Holmes Chapel, has been nominated for a prestigious award.
Marketing Cheshire has put the pub forward for the title of the ‘Tourism Pub of the Year’ in the Visit England Awards for Excellence 2014, the 25th anniversary of the Visit England event.
In 2013 the George and Dragon won the Taste Cheshire awards for Excellence in ‘Customer Service’ and ‘Best Pub in Cheshire’.
Martin Barnes took over as landlord in March 2010 since when the pub has undergone a complete transformation of thexterior and, in conjunction with Robinsons Brewery, renovated the gardens enabling them to hold community events which is now a prominent feature of Holmes Chapel village.
