Marketing Stockport members have enjoyed a sneak preview of the brand new conferencing facilities for businesses as part of a new multi-million pound Visitors Centre at the historic Robinson’s Brewery .
Robinsons, which this year is celebrating 175 years in Stockport, is offering its stylish new conferencing
facilities combined with a brewery tour for delegates and last week played host to the Marketing Stockport monthly members’ meeting.
The Conference and Visitors Centre includes the Old Tom Room, which holds 70 people theatre-style and the Unicorn Room both offer the latest audio visual equipment and high speed, high capacity wireless internet access.
The brewery tour, which can be included in all corporate bookings, gives people the opportunity to see first-hand how Robinsons has been successfully brewing beer for six generations. It also chronicles the history of the company and the Robinson family dating back to 1838, when they first took over the Unicorn Inn in Stockport, right up to the business’s large-scale brewing and bottling operation and its ownership of 360 community pubs in the present day.
Oliver Robinson, Managing Director (Beer Division) of Robinsons, gave a presentation on the history of this 6th generation family run business, and explained:
“2013 marks the 175th anniversary of the company, so it seems a fitting year to launch our Visitors Centre and Conferencing facilities. It’s a fantastic way to celebrate the achievements of the business over the years and introduce a new generation to the Brewery and the family, which has played – and continues to play – an immensely important role in British brewing.
“Robinsons is part of the rich history of Stockport. It is very well-known within the local business community and centrally located. With so few other town-centre facilities we hope that our new Visitors Centre will prove popular with companies and organisations looking for a unique venue to hold events.”
David Bremner, Marketing Director gave a presentation on the new visitor centre and the conference facolities; the new visitor centre will also provide an excellent location for business lunches and informal gatherings.
