The Red Lion in High Lane has reopened following an investment by Robinsons Brewery, which aims to put drinkers and diners at the heart of the pub.
Renowned for its Sunday lunch and seasonal food menu, the Red Lion was closed for just over a month whilst Robinsons carried out a stylish refurbishment which brings modern design flair to the suburbs. The result is a cosy yet chic pub which is perfect for not just special occasions but for meeting and socialising.
Simon Taylor, Retail Operations Manager for Robinsons Brewery said:
The Red Lion is a fantastic pub with a brilliant reputation. Whilst we will continue to champion our exciting menu, we wanted to shine a spotlight on our excellent drinks range and bring the bar back to the forefront.”

The new interior of the Red Lion in High Lane
Internally, the new seating and casual dining spaces around the bar create an ideal place for relaxing and sampling some of the Red Lion’s multiple award-winning cask ales, craft beers, wines and their new extensive spirits range. This bar area is also dog friendly, making it a perfect place to bring your four-legged friend after a day of exploring the area.
The Red Lion in High Lane has also retained its formal dining areas that are perfect for special occasions and celebrations, whilst the former snug and panel room is now available for private dining and meetings.

The new bar area
The Red Lion has reopened with a new spring and summer menu which champions fresh, seasonal produce. Dishes such as the new spring lamb kleftiko, seabass en papillotte and Malaysian Rendang curry sit side by side with pub classics such as beer battered fish and chips and homemade cheese and onion pie.
Dean Machin, General Manager of Red Lion said:
We have been delighted to see all the support for the Red Lion from the local community and we are pleased to be giving it back to everyone. The changes to the pub really are stunning and we know that our local customers and High Lane as a whole will love what we’ve done.”
Closing, Simon added:
The new Red Lion is the perfect place to ‘make a night of it’ for High Lane and the surrounding areas. With great food, great drinks and great entertainment, we are certain that the Red Lion will continue to be a popular destination for many years to come.”
