Cheadle contractor, Short Construction, has announced its turnover has exceeded £19 million as the firm celebrates its 15th anniversary.
First founded in Wilmslow in 2010, the company has grown to a 37-strong workforce and is currently on site at nine projects across the North West totalling £57 million in Gross Development Value. Its latest results reveal a record-breaking turnover of over £19 million in 2024, surpassing the firm’s £16 million target.
A surge in new-build housing schemes, coupled with rising demand in healthcare, is driving opportunities, including in Stockport where the Cheadle contractor is delivering a 45-apartment scheme for Britannia Group. Founder and MD Adrian Short (pictured front middle with Short Construction management team) explained:
“I believe we’re in a uniquely strong position here in the North West to support businesses and individuals who possess a deep understanding of their respective property sectors and consistently drive forward successful developments irrespective of the global economic climate. Over the past 15 years, our team has worked tirelessly to deliver exceptional projects for commercial partners, private homeowners and through our own residential division, SCL Property Group.
“Healthcare is a sector we’ve heavily invested in to ensure we’re delivering buildings that align with evolving operational requirements and integrate the lactest technologies. This month Property Week* reported that 62 per cent of healthcare operators plan to expand their portfolios over the next five years, with the North West emerging as the area of highest demand. It’s a sector full of confidence, backed by robust investment appetite, and it’s one that demands experienced contractors like us to deliver high-quality schemes at pace. Today, we’re just as passionate and ambitious as we were on day one, with a strong pipeline of projects across multiple sectors and a commitment to exceeding expectations on every build.”
