Apple Pay has officially launched in the UK with RBS among the first banks to bring the service to customers in the UK. The banking group announced the new partnership with Apple last month and in the future Apple Pay will allow our UK RBS, NatWest and Ulster Bank NI customers to use their Apple devices to pay for goods and services.
Apple Pay allows our customers to:
- Make quick and secure contactless payments in shops simply by holding their device near the contactless terminal and using TouchID to verify their identity or by entering a passcode
- Pay by using a fingerprint when buying goods within Apps
- Earn the same rewards they’d gain when using RBS/NatWest debit or credit cards
- Use Apple Pay to pay fares on the London transport system while commuting around the city
When Apple Pay launched in the US last year there were one million activations in the first three days which shows the potential level of interest among our customers.
