Stockport law firm SAS Daniels LLP has advised Lancashire-based R&B Switchgear Services Ltd, founded in 1985 and a manufacturer and service company for Electrical Switchgear, on its acquisition of Switchgear Integrated Maintenance (SIM) Ltd.
The acquisition will complement and enhance R&B’s knowledge base and support of GEC ALSTHOM low voltage switchgear for products dating from pre-1960 to present day production.
Founded in 2003 by James Ferguson and Bryan Lacey, Merseyside-based SIM Ltd. will maintain its brand within the R&B Group. Ferguson and Lacey will be staying on as Project/Contract Engineers.
SIM Ltd was represented by Nick Cattell of TMG Corporate Finance and David Clinch of Hiltonlegal, whilst John Wild of PKW Accountants provided accountancy advice for R&B Switchgear.
Mark Beswick, Managing Director at R&B Switchgear, said:
“This deal will see us benefit from adding SIM’s technical expertise to our own skills, and is a measure of our commitment to developing the R&B service lines and delivering added value to our customers.”
Jeremy Orrell, head of corporate at SAS Daniels LLP, advised R&B on
the deal, with support from Kaye Whitby, a partner in the corporate
team and head of SAS Daniels’ Chester office. He said:

will be the ultimate beneficiaries.”
