Clarke Nicklin Financial Planning have announced the promotion of Stephen Mackenzie to paraplanner after just 16 months with the firm.
Despite his short tenure with the firm, from the beginning Stephen impressed with his hard work and enthusiasm. Stephen’s original role consisted of dealing with general administration tasks such as processing applications, letters of authority, drawing up client review packs and assisting Partner and IFA, Scott Herbert, and other members of the team with general enquiries.
Within two weeks of Stephen joining Clarke Nicklin Financial Planning the UK was plunged into its first national lockdown. The whole team quickly adapted to a new way of working and effectively adjusted the way they connected with clients, primarily via email, telephone, and video calls. Stephen began to support Adviser Support Manager, Chris Evans, writing reports for clients. Although Stephen had little experience of report writing initially, through close mentoring from Manager Chris, Stephen became more confident and developed his knowledge and is now a skilled report writer. Stephen is delighted with his progress, commenting:
My paraplanning skills have been developing to the point where Chris has the confidence and trust in me to take full ownership and responsibility of reports. I’m looking forward to continuing working with clients and assisting the team in my new role.”
Stephen will now continue working closely with Chris, whilst also processing business applications, creating review packs and in the future, taking on even more responsibility to support the team. Partner and Independent Financial Adviser, Scott Herbert, is thrilled at Stephen’s development; he said:
Stephen has quickly established himself as a popular and valuable member of the team. His ability, hard work and contribution has led to this much deserved promotion. I look forward to seeing Stephen flourish in his new role. We will also continue to support his ongoing training and development as part of our focus on elevating all team members.”
Managing Partner of Clarke Nicklin, Andrew Baggott, added:
It is always very pleasing to see our team members developing and progressing to further enhance our focus on delivering excellence in client advice and support. Stephen’s and the rest of the teams continued development shows our focus on ensuring our values on client service and delivery will be achieved and enhanced for all of our clients over the whole of our lifetime relationship with them.”
