Businesses from across Greater Manchester will gather for the PROGRESS21 conference, hosted by The Growth Company, to drive the city-region’s economic recovery for jobs and business.
The one-day live event will take place at Manchester Central (formerly G-Mex) on Thursday 23rd September, bringing together businesses from across the region for a wide range of presentations, workshops and support to kickstart Greater Manchester’s economic recovery.
The PROGRESS21 conference brings together three events, which attendees must register for individually:
- PROGRESS21 Careers: a jobs and careers conference, bringing together employers, jobseekers and support organisation.
- PROGRESS21 Business: insight and support on issues affecting all businesses in the region today, including sales, cash-flow and finance, creating and leading a workforce, digital transformation and understanding Net Zero.
- PROGRESS21 Global: showcasing Greater Manchester on a global stage to attract investment and visitors.
The event was originally planned for 23rd June, but was postponed to September in line with the delay in easing restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The business conference has been planned carefully in line with government and industry guidelines and best practices to maximise Covid safety.
Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, welcomed the event as an opportunity for the city-region to recover and innovate after the trials of the pandemic. He said:
This event is a brilliant opportunity for individuals to progress their career prospects, businesses to unlock potential for growth, and Greater Manchester to expand its global potential. PROGRESS21 will showcase our ambitions to become a world-leading city-region with a drive to become Carbon Net Zero, innovate in the digital sector, and accelerate our economic growth as the region recovers from the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Across three main themes – Career, Business and Global – this practical event will allow us to address the key issues facing our region, explore future skills to help kickstart careers, build insight into growing local businesses, and position Greater Manchester on the global stage to attract visitors and investors.”
