The three members of staff at local Stockport printing company Print Approved are nearing the completion of their training programme in readiness for the Great Manchester Run.
On Sunday, May 22, the team will take to the streets of Manchester to run a commendable 10km for local Stockport charity The Wellspring Stockport.
Each year Print Approved support a chosen charity, however, this is the first year the team members have taken part in the Great Manchester Run.
With generous pledges already made, the team are aiming to raise between them, in the region of £600, for The Wellspring Stockport. Lesley’ has already made a good start, exceeding her personal target of £250.
This is a charity close to Lesley’s heart. Earlier in the year she donated to the rucksack project providing numerous rucksacks each filled with essentials such as sleeping bags, fleeces, clothes, toiletries, flask, tinned food to help the homeless cope over the winter period.
The Wellspring Stockport runs a resource centre for homeless and disadvantaged people. The project is open 365 days a year. It provides a whole host of specialised services aimed at people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. It’s also there to help people who are seeking to better themselves; people who need some basic support often to address larger problems. Anyone who feels that they would benefit from the Wellspring services is welcomed.
