The team behind Stockport MDC – Stockport’s Mayoral Development Corporation’s plans to build 3,500 new homes in Stockport town centre are planning a series of drop-in sessions for residents, businesses and interested parties.
The informal sessions are designed to help businesses and residents to find out more about the MDC’s plans to re-develop Stockport Town Centre West and create the region’s ‘newest, coolest and greenest’ urban community neighbourhood.
Stockport’s Mayoral Development Corporation has been established to help combat challenges faced by the town’s retail sector, to create new working spaces and to promote Town Centre living as a sustainable option for new and existing residents.
Stockport MDC will deliver, new homes, offices and leisure amenities on brownfield land alongside existing commercial buildings and residential developments – – all contributing towards achieving a cleaner, healthier environment, promoting well-being and creating new, vibrant town centre communities
Paul Richards, CEO Of Stockport MDC and Director of Development and Regeneration at Stockport Council said:
“These are exciting times for Stockport and we have ambitious but wholly realistic plans for its future sustainability. We want to ensure that our plans are transparent and that we work together with residents and occupiers. We will be hosting a series of drop-in events where our plans will be laid out for anyone to look at and provide feedback.”
The first Drop-in session will take place between 1pm and 6pm on Thursday 19th March at Stockport MDC, 4-6 Grand Central, Stockport SK1 3TA (adjacent to the Apprenticeship store). For more information visit the Stockport MDC website.
