Learners in Stockport have won 3,077 iDEA Digital badges between them, with 51 people having gone further still and achieved their Bronze Award!
Over 3,000 people in Stockport are developing their digital, enterprise and employability skills by collecting iDEA digital badges.
iDEA is The Duke of York Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award. There are 3 levels of Award – Bronze, Silver and Gold – and you work towards each award by earning badges online as you learn new skills. Each badge carries points and when you earn enough points, you will receive the award. The Bronze Award is already released, Silver is about to be launched and Gold will be available next year.
Councillor Elise Wilson, Cabinet Member for Reform and Governance at Stockport Council said:
“These numbers show that iDEA is already proving a great success in Stockport. It’s a fantastic way to learn new digital skills, get better at things you already know a bit about or discover talents you didn’t know you had. It’s fun, it’s free and we are encouraging people of all ages to give iDEA a try.”
iDEA badges are fun and flexible, covering a wide range of bite size topics. They can help you be safe online, learn to use digital tools in the workplace, develop creative skills such as web design or video editing or pick up tips to become an entrepreneur!
Anyone who wants to make a start with iDEA digital can sign up at https://www.stockport.gov.uk/idea and earn an exclusive Digital Stockport badge that gives you points towards your Bronze award.
All you need is an email address and access to the internet.
Councillor Wilson adds:
