ORBIT SPONSOR LifeLEISURE’S BIG RUN – BACK IN STOCKPORT

Life Leisure’s BIG Stockport 10K Run is back for a fourth year and once again Stockport’s largest landlord Orbit Developments are sponsoring this BIG event on Sunday 20th September. Aimed at runners of all abilities and entries, the BIG run is open for anyone aged 16+.

For the first time the BIG event this year will also feature the BIG 1km promising to provide plenty of fun for all the family. Entrants can run, walk or complete the course as a group in whatever way they wish, it’s up to them!

Athletes from Team New Balance Manchester helped launch The Big Run. Jonny Mellor, Elle Vernon and Ross Millington who all live and train in Stockport, came along with Steve Vernon their coach and well known former GB runner.

The Stockport Run, organised by Life Leisure, has once again been sponsored by commercial property company Orbit Developments, who has generously pledged its continued support, as part of their investment in Stockport.

Neil Bardsley, Sport Development Manager at Life Leisure the BIG Run organisers said,

“This is the fourth Stockport Big Run we have organised and we are anticipating a record turnout.  We are delighted that Orbit Developments are again sponsoring The Big Run and continuing their association with the event. It’s a great event that always brings the community together in Stockport. It also continues to help local people raise a lot of money for their own favourite charities as well as being a key date in the diary for elite runners.”

The Big 10km Run starts at 10am, advance booking costs just £15 per person, and £13 for UKA affiliated athletes. Team entry is £50 for a team of 5.

The Big 1km run starts at 10.15am – £5 per entry.
