Stockport’s largest commercial landlord, Orbit Developments, is investing £10,000 in the town by supporting three key events taking place this year – Headlander Festival, Life Leisure’s 10k Run and the Stockport Business Awards.
The trio of sponsorships are part of Orbit Developments’ ongoing commitment to promote Stockport as a great place to work, live and do business.
Tony Jones, Managing Director of Orbit Developments, explained:
“We have 12 properties in Stockport Town Centre alone, along with many more in the borough so we are extremely committed to the area. I think the borough has a lot to offer for businesses, residents and visitors which is the reason why we wanted to support these fantastic initiatives. These events are helping to raise awareness of the great things the town has to offer.
“This is our first year sponsoring Headlander Festival and the Life Leisure 10k Run. We believe both events are a real asset to Stockport, providing great family fun events that will bring in people from across the North West to visit and spend time in Stockport.”
The Headlander Festival is a music festival at Stockport Rugby Club in Bramhall. It offers 80 hours of live music from 85 acts including Toploader and Stooshe along with family fun activities and events all set in 15 acres of Cheshire countryside.
Initially inspired by the London Olympics, Life Leisure’s 10k run is now in its third year and has grown significantly since the first event. The aim is to draw more people in Stockport into participating in sporting events and with 500 people estimated to take part; the event is proving to be popular with local residents. As well as sponsoring the event, Orbit have two teams entering so be sure to look out for their runners!
The Stockport Business Awards remains a highlight for the Borough and attracts hundreds of businesses and great entries every year.
Tony states:
“We’ve been involved in the Stockport Business Awards since their inception three years ago and believe they are a brilliant platform for showcasing the talent, success and dynamism of the local business community.”
As one of the four main sponsors of the event, Orbit specifically sponsor the award for Business of the Year with £1m-5m turnover.
Tony added:
“Every sponsorship adds something different to our business and is an opportunity to raise awareness of what we do and make new connections with people who live and work here.”
