Stockport’s largest commercial landlord, Orbit Developments, is bringing Headlander to the town centre in a sponsorship deal which will pre-promote the main event in venues around Stockport Market Square for the first time.

Orbit Developments took the idea to the sponsorship agency Just R and the organisers of the successful Bramhall-based festival to help promote venues in the town centre and to raise the event’s profile in advance of the June 21st and 22nd weekend dates.
Last year, blessed with great weather, the Headlander Festival at Stockport Rugby Club attracted over 5,000 visitors, who experienced a fantastic range of acts including Topload-er and Stooshe and a great family atmosphere.
The Orbit Developments deal, worth £10,000 over two years, will use venues like Bakers Vaults and Live Stockport in the town’s market square to showcase acts from the festival in the run up to the event.
Tony Jones, Managing Director of Orbit Developments, said he was delighted that Headlander could see the value in extending the district-based festival into the town centre:
“It’s a great chance to give people a taste of the quality and variety of acts appearing at Headlander and it will provide further exposure for those performers. It will also raise awareness of the main event and it will provide, most importantly, entertainment and promotion of key venues in Stockport which helps drive footfall and income into the town centre.”
Acts taking up the opportunity include the band Jeramiah Ferrari and Kazo, who will play the venues in the week leading up to the festival weekend.
Chris Keene, Festival Organiser, said:
“Orbit has been a great supporter of the festival in the past and it’s great we can work together again to develop the event further in 2015. We are looking forward to bringing Headlander to Stockport town centre.”
Orbit Developments has 12 commercial properties in Stockport including its flagship building Regent House.
