Pupils and staff at Rose Hill Primary School in Marple are set to benefit from a new school building. The new building was officially opened by Olympic cycling gold medalists Laura Trott and Jason Kenny.
The new high quality building will help transform one of Stockport Council’s flagship schools. The state-of-the-art building reflects current thinking on green sustainable approaches, and offers more flexible learning spaces of contemporary design for pupils and teachers.
Councillor Shan Alexander, Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Achievement at Stockport Council, said: “These are positive times for everybody associated with the Rose Hill Primary School and the official opening of the new school building marks an exciting new stage which will benefit existing pupils and staff, and future generations in the Marple area for years to come.”
The Headteacher at Rose Hill Primary School, Lynn Bragg, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be in such a fantastic building which provides an exciting and stimulating environment for both staff and children. “Rose Hill has operated on two sites since September 2009, and the new school building is designed for 2.5 forms of entry. It replaces the previous building, which was over 40 years old.”
