Clare Finch, Stockport Volunteer Hub Lead says:
“We want to celebrate all the different types of volunteering and that includes the brilliant Employee Volunteering Schemes organised by local businesses that genuinely care about our local community and want to offer their staff an opportunity to learn more about the neighbourhoods where they work.”
Shortlisted nominees will be invited to the Awards at Edgeley Park, Thursday 23 May at 6.30pm, where they’ll enjoy a two-course sit down meal, entertainment and of course the chance to win an Award. All shortlisted nominees will receive two free cinema tickets, courtesy of The Light Cinema as well as a welcome drink courtesy of musicMagpie.
Over 57,000 volunteers in Stockport give their time (a combined total of 213,000 hours a week) to helping others. This equates to an incredible £105 million a year. Without this workforce many community groups, charities and voluntary organisations would cease to exist. So volunteers play a vital part in looking after our neighbourhoods, friends and families.
Helen White, co-founder and director of Marketing Stockport added:
“With such an active, willing and vibrant voluntary community in Stockport, we are delighted to be supporting Stockport Rocks. I would encourage all businesses to consider getting involved; there are opportunities to sponsor a table to enable all volunteers to join their peers enjoy celebrating all their great work.
“There is also an opportunity for businesses to enter the awards and put the spotlight on their own Corporate Volunteer programme.”
Table and Category sponsorship is also still available so please get in touch if you’d like to donate so that more Volunteers can attend the event. You’ll receive complimentary tickets in return as well as company profiling. Contact Clare Finch for more information.
