Stockport will be represented at the grand final of the nationwide “Teenstar” competition as street dance team, Vibe, from NK Theatre Arts won their place at the O2 London showpiece.
The team secured passage to the regional finals in September, which took place at Media City over the weekend. The young dancers, aged from 7-19, will compete against the rest of the UK finalists in February 2020.
Hannah Gorst, Head of Musical Theatre for NK Theatre Arts was delighted with the performance of the team. She said:
Every time they go out there, they seem to find an extra level, and this was certainly the case over the weekend. There were just three slots from the dozens of acts, so we were absolutely thrilled to be one of those selected to represent the North West at the O2 Arena. It is going to be so exciting for our children, but they deserve it with the hard work and dedication that they have put into their performance. Everyone is so proud of them and we can’t wait to head to London next year for the grand final.”
This is the second time that NK has had representatives in the grand final in the last three years. They secured a top 3 finish two years ago and will be hoping for another memorable events. The Teenstar Grand Final takes place at the O2 Arena on 1st February 2020.
