Night time resurfacing works will start on Monday 24th October on Stockport’s M60 Pyramid roundabout and adjoining roads as part of the council’s Highways Investment Programme.
Stockport Council’s Highways team will be carrying out work on a section of Didsbury Road (from Bankfield Avenue to the M60 Roundabout), Green Lane (from Didsbury Road to the Volkswagen access road) and on the M60 Pyramid Roundabout itself.
The first of three phases of work will see Green Lane closed for one night from 9pm to 5am on October 24th.
Phase 2 will last for seven days and will mean a 9pm to 5am closure on all M60 on-slip and off-slips lanes except for the westbound on-slip lane next to the Pyramid.
Phase 3 closures will begin once phase 2 is complete and last for six nights, 9pm to 5am. All M60 on-slip and off-slip lanes will re-open but Didsbury Road will be closed to all traffic.
Diversions will be in place during the closures via Brinksway, Wellington Road North and Heaton Moor Road to access Didsbury Road. Access to properties in the working area will be maintained where possible however may be restricted for certain periods as the work progresses.
Work forms part of Stockport Council’s 10-year Highways Investment Programme, which launched in April 2014. The work has delivered range of repairs from patching to resurfacing in targeted areas and provides a long term solution to the deterioration of Stockport’s road network for local residents and other road users.
