Ryanair is adding a new aircraft to its Manchester fleet, announced 6 new routes to Europe and additional flights on existing routes at the launch of the budget airline’s summer 2016 schedule.
Direct flights will now be available to the Slovakian capital of Bratislava, Bremen in Germany, Brindisi on the Adriatic coast of Italy, Carcassone in the south of France, Limoges in western France and to the Mediterranean island of Malta.
Ryanair will operate 250 weekly flights on 49 routes and is expected to deliver 500,000 new customers – 3.8 million in total – and support 2,800 on site jobs as the airline grows by 25% from its base at Manchester Airport.
Manchester will now be home to eight Ryanair planes flying to Alicante, Barcelona, Dublin, Faro, Ibiza, Madrid, Milan, Rome, Valencia, and Warsaw.
Ken OToole, Managing Director of Manchester Airport said:
“It’s great news to see such strong growth for Ryanair at Manchester, the UKs Global Gateway for the North.
“With new routes for the airport and further capacity increases on existing services, today’s announcement will provide passengers with more choice and value, and will contribute to further sustained growth by Manchester Airport beyond our current all-time passenger record of 22.9m passengers.
“With over 22m people living within our two hour catchment, two full length runways and a £1bn transformation program announced, Manchester Airport has, and will continue to have, the available capacity and demand to meet the needs of our catchment that extends as far North as Scotland and South to the Midlands.”
To celebrate the launch its summer schedule, Ryanair are releasing 100,000 seats for sale across their European network at fares starting from £19.99, which are available for booking until midnight tonight – Thursday (29 Oct).
