Electrical contractors, businesses, sole traders and other interested parties in Stockport are invited to the launch of a new Solar Installer Accelerator to help them take advantage of the growth solar energy market.
The programme from Green Economy and MCS Certified will work with local and national partners to provide access to the required qualifications, certifications and skills needed to run a sustainable and thriving MCS certified solar business with a focus on the UK market.
Demand for solar is booming, with projected demand exceeding supply in terms of the existing number of qualified, locally based installers. Qualified electricians have a unique opportunity to join this growing market by developing new skills, accessing local opportunities and growing their business base across the city-region as Greater Manchester takes action to become carbon neutral.
A launch event will take place at Stockport College on Friday 20th September from 9am to 11am, to introduce the Solar Installer Accelerator trial and explore what steps Greater Manchester is taking to increase renewable energy generation through rooftop solar panels.
