NAIL BAR SUCCESS AT MANCHESTER AIRPORT

Cloud Nails are celebrating a successful six months at Manchester Airport’s Terminal 1 – by opening a second nail bar in Terminal 2.

Cloud Nails have preened and polished 4,550 sets of nails at the airport since opening in April – including 45 men. Almost 60% of customers opted for the special gel manicures which are painted and dry in 20 minutes and can last up to three weeks.

Chief Executive of Cloud Nails, Joel Sutton said:

“We were really excited to open our first nail bar in an airport and were delighted when Manchester Airport created a space for us to start operating from.

“We’ve been even more successful than we anticipated to date and a lot of airport passengers have tweeted us asking about manicures in the other terminals so we opened our second Manchester Airport nail bar in terminal two just a couple of weeks ago.

“It’s a great way for passengers to relax and enjoy a bit of pampering before a potentially long flight. We find we have a range of customers from ladies who want to treat themselves before they jet off for a week in the sun, honeymooners who want the pampering to start at the airport, children who want a funky or sparkly design painting on and even men like to get their cuticles in tip-top condition. We can do both manicures and pedicures, including express file and polish which takes just 15 minutes and gel manicures.”

Terminals 1 and 2 have a combined passenger total of approximately 18 million a year which is an impressive audience size for Cloud Nails to showcase their products to.

“Cloud Nails are something unique in Manchester Airport and it’s fantastic that after only six months they have been able to expand with us and continue to keep our passengers entertained while waiting for a flight. We are constantly reviewing new ideas to improve our retail offering for passengers and ensure they have a wide variety of choice while they’re airside because for us, our passengers holidays start when they get here.”

Cloud Nails currently employ 10 manicurists at Manchester Airport but are recruiting for more. Any passengers visiting Cloud Nails in Terminals 1 or 2 during October can also take advantage of a half price pedicure with any gel manicure. For more information, visit www.cloudnails.co.uk.
