Placemakers and development partners on Stockport Exchange, Muse, have secured Great Place to Work certification for the second year running.
After first earning the certification in 2022, alongside being named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Wellbeing, the regeneration specialists have again been recognised for their workplace culture. Muse began seeking Great Place to Work accreditation in 2022 as part of the business’ wider colleague engagement and wellbeing strategy.
Culture experts at Great Place to Work analysed employee surveys from thousands of Muse colleagues to assess how the business offers a supportive and open environment for its workforce. Employees were asked to comment on a range of workplace wellbeing issues, including how Muse supports work-life balance, sense of fulfilment, job satisfaction, psychological safety and financial security. Evaluations also took into account whether there were differing experiences across varying job functions and staff seniority.
Muse’s 2023 certification is based on the survey of its entire workforce, including those on maternity leave, and exceeded last year’s 90% response rate. Overall, 90% of respondents stated that the developer was a great place to work.
Jill O’Grady, Head of HR at Muse, said:
“As a business, we create kinder, safer places in our towns and cities across the UK. We take the same approach for our people too, as we foster a supportive environment, which nurtures inclusivity, collaboration and wellbeing.
“We’re delighted to once again be accredited as a Great Place to Work. This process continues to provide us with evidence-based information to benchmark against other businesses like ours, with plenty of best practice data to enable us to continuously improve for our colleagues.”
Great Place to Work Certification is recognised around the world by employees and employers alike and is the global benchmark for identifying outstanding employee experiences. Ben Gautrey, Managing Director at Great Place to Work UK, said:
“Our understanding about what employees need, and how they behave, has changed dramatically in recent years. Certified™ companies put people first. Once Certified™, you become a member of a group of likeminded people-first companies.
“It’s important to honour all of the work that goes into creating a Certified™ company.”
