Customers at M & S Simply Food in Hazel Grove are showing a healthy appetite for raising funds for St Ann’s Hospice.
Their generosity means the store is half way towards reaching its £2,000 fundraising target for the charity.
A highlight is a virtual bike ride of 874 miles – the distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats – undertaken by community champion Tom Pritchard and colleague Hannah Kirkland.
Every Saturday the pair take it in turns to pedal outside the store on Commercial Road. Fellow charity team members Kirsty Wallace and Sam Stokes are also organising fundraising events.
Tom said:
“The whole store is getting behind the efforts of the charity team and we’d like to say a big thank you to all our customers for their kind donations. St Ann’s is our charity of the year and we all know people whose lives have been touched by the care of the hospice.”
