A student from Stockport’s University Centre based at Stockport College’s campus has completed Year 3 of her MMU degree (+ placement) and has her fingers crossed for a 1st!
Christine McKessy has received her final piece of work back which has been provisionally marked as 83%. Christine’s tutor Sue Jones said “it was a pleasure to read” which Chrstine commented:
“meant more than the mark itself. If all goes well, then I shall be heading for a first, which is amazing.”
Christine continued:
“When I started this journey 3 years ago I remember thinking what has all this social policy got to do with social work, it’s amazing how enlightened I have become with my new found knowledge.”
Christine told another of her lecturers Karen Taylor:
“I am extremely fortunate to have studied at Stockport and believe that my own learning outcome was greatly achieved due to the enthusiasm of the tutors, including Cora Rooney who I have to spotlight because she did inspire me, and the debates were absolutely marvelous!!”
Christine starts the next step of her career journey in September on the ASYE at Calderdale Council in the adults end of life team. The team there were impressed with Christine’s values and ethics discussed in the interview, something she will continue to build on.
