The Minister of State for Transport visited Stockport and the Hazel Grove Constituency to hear for herself about the campaign for the next phase of the much-needed Hazel Grove Bypass.
Lisa Smart, the Prospective Liberal Democrat MP for Hazel Grove invited Baroness Kramer who said:
”I am delighted that we have clearance for Phase One of the A555, and I am absolutely clear, having spoken with Lisa, that the next priority for local residents like her is Phase Two – connecting Phase One at the A6 to the M60 at Junction 25.”

Lisa Smart (pictured Left and Andrew Stunell MP have campaigned to help deliver the A555 plan including Part 2 of the planned road linking Hazel Grove to Junction 25 in Bredbury, taking traffic out of Hazel Grove, Dan Bank and Bredbury.
Lisa said:
“The new road link will mean that the big lorries from quarries in the Peak District will be taken off our small, local roads. The environmental, economic, health and wellbeing benefits of not having people sitting in traffic are enormous.”
