A new business hub and innovation centre in a disused Merseyway retail unit has appointed Stockport-based Unhooked Communications as its PR partner.
Following a competitive tender process, Unhooked Communications will support the launch and ongoing promotion of the new Merseyway Innovation Centre in Stockport town centre with media relations, events and thought leadership.
Merseyway Innovation Centre provides flexible, high quality office and meeting space for businesses and freelancers with a key focus on creative, marketing, and businesses with a social purpose. The innovation centre has a range of workspaces on offer, including coworking spaces, shared offices and individual offices, ranging from 100 sq ft up to 570 sq ft plus a 1,000 sq. ft business lounge and promises an engaged community that supports innovation, collaboration and growth.
As well as a calendar of events and networking opportunities, businesses will also have access to the centre’s Innovation Director, Naomi Timperley, who can provide them with strategic coaching and growth and innovation support.
Claire Gamble, Managing Director of Unhooked Communications, said:
“I know first-hand just how valuable shared office environments and coworking spaces can be when you’re starting and growing a business. With the added benefits of an on-site Innovation Director and a dedicated team who will encourage networking and collaborations, Merseyway Innovation Centre is set to become a very special place for the businesses and individuals who use it. There’s a huge amount of regeneration going on in Stockport, and the launch of the centre will mean so many creative and ambitious businesses will be able to make the town their home.”
Rob Kates, Centre Manager said:
“Not only did Unhooked Communications show us that they had great experience of promoting properties and services to businesses across our key sectors, but the team’s own network and ability to promote events and collaborations also impressed us. We have a strong pipeline of PR activity planned to help us launch Merseyway Innovation Centre, as well as put the spotlight on some of our brilliant businesses. We’re proud that this latest addition to Innovate Stockport’s portfolio will further strengthen the town’s ambitions to be a vibrant business hub.”
Merseyway Innovation Centre forms part of the Innovate Stockport portfolio, which includes Stockport Business & Innovation Centre at Broadstone Mill and Merchants House in the Market Place. Oxford Innovation Space will manage Merseyway Innovation Centre on behalf of Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council. The centre was developed thanks to funding from the EU’s European Regional Development Fund through Northern Powerhouse, Stockport Council and from the Department for Culture, Media & Sport’s Cultural Development Fund managed by Arts Council England.
