The Stockport branch of national mental health charity, MIND, have moved into new premises at Stockport Homes’ Cornerstone Building in the town centre.
In a e-newsletter from Stockport & District MIND, the organisation explained that the move aimed to make their services more visible and accessible to the local community. It is also hoped that the new location will give the mental health charity more opportunities to network and work collaboratively with other individuals and organisations that share their vision.
To coincide with the move, the organisation is also launching a brand new website to make it easier for people to access information about the charity’s services. The new website also offers improved ways for others to show their support for the organisation, whether it be by volunteering, making donations or fundraising.
The mental health charity has also sought to strengthen other areas of its offering within the community alongside the move to Stockport Homes’ Cornerstone Building. The Stockport Mind Choir have chosen to relocate to the more central St Peter’s Parish Church in the town centre to raise its profile as a support service within the community. The charity will also continue its close working with Signpost for Carers, which provides support for those caring for a loved one.
Stockport & District MIND has also launched a new promotional video to provide a taster of the plans it has for its continued work in the local community. Produced with the support of Glacé Media, the video hopes to highlight the charity’s personal approach to services and how it supports those most in need.
