The Manchester Monitor is a dashboard of Greater Manchester specific data and indicators designed to provide a monthly analytical snapshot of the economic wellbeing of the city region.
The January edition of the Manchester Monitor includes a quarterly feature on the results from the most recent release of the Greater Manchester Forecasting Model (GMFM), analysing what the next decade will look like in the conurbation. More than 100,000 jobs are forecast to be created in GM over the next 10 years, with the business services sector likely to be the main driver of growth. The Manchester Monitor this month also highlights GM’s impressive growth in economic output, as well as looking at the continuing decline in unemployment.
