Manchester Airports Group has appointed the contractors to work across its property portfolio, Place North West has reported.
The £60 million Engineering Project Management and Design Services framework covered project management, engineering, airport advisory and architectural services, and procured a range of specialists that will support the group’s property portfolio at Manchester and East Midlands Airports. Contractors at Stansted Airport will be handled separately.
Contractors appointed across the four lots are:
Project Management Services:
- Mace
- Lendlease Consulting
- Capita Property and Infrastructure
- Turner & Townsend Project Management
Multidisciplinary Engineering Services:
- Aecom
- Costain
- Mott Macdonald
- Arcadis Consulting
- Jacobs UK
Airport Advisory Services:

- Mott Macdonald
- Atkins
Architectural Services:
- Strzala Architects

- Pascal+Watson
An additional £60 million of contracts covering Stansted Airport, which is also owned by Manchester Airports Group, will be in place in the next five years and tendered separately.
Travel through the airport has been significantly impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, and Manchester Airport is currently operating only from Terminal 1. The group is partly owned by Greater Manchester’s local authorities, which have contributed £250 million to the company to ensure its survival as travel restrictions and quarantines on arrival have led to a sharp decline in passenger numbers.
Manchester Airports Group’s CEO, Charlie Cornish, has described a 14 day quarantine for arrivals to the UK as a ‘brick wall’ to economic recovery for tourism and aviation.
