Approximately fifty local business leaders attended the April Marketing Stockport member’s meeting hosted by MAN Diesel & Turbo UK Ltd in Stockport last week.
MAN Diesel & Turbo UK is one of 12 businesses who are key sponsors for Marketing Stockport and the second occasion that Marketing Stockport has held its monthly meeting at their Hazel Grove premises.
Andrew Bellamy, Managing Director of MAN Diesel & Turbo UK, took the opportunity to inform the local business community on the company’s successes of the past 12 months, including an update on their major win of last year – a £39m contract to supply 60 marine diesel engines to Taiwan. The first of these are currently in testing and due for delivery from next month, part of a consignment that is the single largest engine order the UK has seen for almost 30 years!
Following another very interesting and thought provoking presentation from fellow Marketing Stockport member Oakridge, the guests were invited to tour the MAN PrimeServ Academy where Technical Instructor Andrew Fenn gave an insight into the engines that are supported across the world from their UK facilities.
