MAG – Manchester Airports Group – has started the search for a professional team to work across its property portfolio, including architects, cost consultants, surveyors, and engineers.
As reported on Place North West the framework is designed to support MAG investment in its estate, and includes construction, asset management, project management, and new developments across all the three airports – Manchester, East Midlands, and Stansted airports.
Disciplines covered by the £60m framework include quantity surveying; interior design; structural engineering; site investigation; ecology; architecture; BIM design; and fire consultancy.
The airports group is also looking to procure a number of aviation specialists, including consultants with experience in airport capacity planning and modelling; airport development management; and airport asset management.
The framework is being procured across eight lots, four of which cover Manchester Airport. Up to 10 consultants will be chosen for each lot; the framework is expected to last for five years.
Manchester Airport is currently undergoing a £1bn transformation, with contractor Laing O’Rourke delivering a major overhaul of Terminal 2; the first redeveloped passenger pier has now opened with the updated terminal building set to open in 2020.
