A team of intrepid members and staff from Life Leisure recently pushed themselves to the limits and took on the big one, the gruelling obstacle race Total Warrior, successfully crossing the finishing line together.
The Lake District is the Adventure Capital of the UK and home of Total Warrior – the perfect if not gruelling venue for an exhausting obstacle race – with 10km of endless hills, rivers, mud (tonnes of it!), woodland, the rugged Lake District terrain and punishing obstacles pushing everyone to the limit.

The LifeLEISURE team trained together for weeks in preparation for the real thing including long runs, sprints and weight lifting to cater for the challenging demands of the course and, remarkably, everybody got around the punishing course unscathed, only sporting bumps and bruises with no serious injuries.
Laura Mylotte, (pictured centre left front), Marketing and Communications Manager at Life Leisure, commented on the challenge saying:
“At Life Leisure we like to keep ourselves and our members fit and healthy, and we knew we just had to give this a go. It was a brilliant team building exercise, if a bit extreme, that tested each and everyone one of us. The training sessions really paid off as we all made it round the course and although some of the team were slower than others, we made sure we finished as a team, it was a wonderful feeling.
She continued, “We all thoroughly enjoyed the day, sometimes it’s good to push yourself and we all said we would definitely do it again.”
