British Weight Lifting final stage of the 2014/15 ‘Manchester Weight Lifting Series’ was held at Life Leisure’s Houldsworth Village Gym attracting a huge entry as interest in the competition brought an increase in entries in all three stages; the 3rd stage attracted over 57 athletes who came from far and wide to compete with some of our home grown local competitors.

Andreas Michaelas, BWL Regional Development Officer was delighted with the turn out and said,:
“We know that we have an amazing venue and location at Life Leisure Houldsworth Village. More and more people are recommending the venue, saying that it is the ‘go to’ place for both competitive weight lifting and power lifting as well as for general health and fitness.
“Weight Lifting is getting very popular amongst both men and women proven by the huge increase in entries in the events and enquiries about the training we offer. There was some excellent lifts in all categories and tremendous support for all the competitors.”

“We were really pleased to see both competitors and spectators out in force at Houldsworth Village enjoying the final of the Series. We think it will really encourage people from all over the area to give it a go.”
