Team members from Life Leisure had a lot to celebrate at their annual awards which were held recently. The event which is sponsored by partners and suppliers recognises individuals and centres contribution to Life Leisure’s success in Stockport recognising and acknowledging achievement by their employees in delivering only the best sport and fitness facilities to the community.
A number of awards were presented on the night including The David Hopkins Foundation Award (sponsored by Unique & Matrix), which was picked up by Seb Rowe, special project manager at Life Leisure. Judges commented that he received the award for his commitment, drive and enthusiasm.
Senior business manager, Erin O’Brien won the Lifetime Achievement Award (sponsored by Andy Cook Property), which recognised her 25 years at Life Leisure, where she has continuously shown a dedicated community focus, a sense of humour and has always remained the complete professional.
The Sports Development team were presented with the Team of the Year (sponsored by Service Sport) for the programmes they have initiated and for their continued success in funding applications for sports and health initiatives including activities such as the hugely popular ‘I wish I’d Tried’ programme which is being delivered throughout Stockport.
Centre of the Year (sponsored by Star Trac) went to Life Leisure Houldsworth Village which has gone from strength to strength following investment in the centre and the collaboration with British Weight Lifting in making this a centre of excellence. The centre has also been recognised nationally by being shortlisted at the recent UKactive Flame awards and the National Fitness Awards.
All of the winners were nominated by managers at Life Leisure and then overseen and adjudicated by a senior panel of judges.
There were also a number of awards presented which were based on the principles with which everyone at Life Leisure subscribe to on a day to day basis as they go about delivering the very best health and fitness support to their customers.
Winners included Sarah Potter, trainee manager, Ellen McDowall, sales manager, Jolene Swann, duty manager, Mandy Waller, business relations manager, Louise Garner & Tanya Audas receptionists at Avondale and finally but not least Katie Evans, senior fitness coach & trainee manager was awarded Employee of the Year.
