There are less than two weeks left for businesses across Greater Manchester to share their views on revised plans for a non-charging Clean Air Zone.
The city-region is particularly looking to hear from owners of HGVs, coaches and other larger vehicles that are likely to be more affected by efforts to reduce air pollution.
An online survey launched last month to hear views on new plans for the GM Clean Air Zone, and will close on 10th October.
The city-region abandoned plans earlier this year for a daily charge for the most polluting commercial vehicles earlier this year due to the challenges facing businesses over the cost and timeframe of securing compliant vehicles. New proposals instead will provide targeted financial support to encourage vehicles to switch to cleaner alternatives in order to drive down levels of harmful NO2 air pollution, largely caused by motor vehicles.
Survey responses from Greater Manchester businesses will help inform how financial support is most effectively targeted, based on the varying needs of vehicle owners in the city-region.
A public consultation on the Clean Air Plan proposals will take place in early 2023, subject to government feedback.
HGV and Coach owners based in or travelling around Greater Manchester can share their views on the Clean Air Plan proposals via an online survey, available at this link until 10th October 2022. The survey should take around 15 minutes to complete.
