Stockport County Football Club has announced that its new fan zone, County Courtyard, will open on 17th December ahead the Hatters’ game versus Gillingham.
Situated outside the Cheadle End at the club’s Edgeley Park stadium, the County Courtyard will offer a family-friendly environment to add to the matchday experience for fans. For the opening game of the County Courtyard, a specially curated Christmas menu has been developed for fans to sink their teeth into before and after the game, including a festive offer from award-winning local pie company, Ate Days A Week.
The fan zone also features a fully functioning bar, offering a range of beers, ciders, wine and soft and hot drinks and will feature a rotating menu of local street food favourites.
The County Courtyard, has a capacity of 1,500 people and will open 90 minutes before the start of the game Saturday’s 3pm kick-off (1.30pm) against Gillingham, and will close at 6.30pm.
Club CEO, Jonathan Vaughan, said:
“We are delighted to officially open the County Courtyard on 17th December, providing the perfect hub for fans to meet family and friends pre and post-match, take in the legendary Edgeley Park atmosphere and enjoy a bite to eat whilst chatting tactics and pre-match predictions. We look forward to welcoming fans in and adding to the matchday experience making a trip to Stockport County a great day out for all.”
The club’s plans for the fan zone were given the go-ahead by Stockport Council earlier this month. County Courtyard has been developed with Cheshire-based container architects White Crate, which has worked with a variety of local businesses to develop unique shipping container concepts including developments for Liverpool FC, Manchester City and award-winning food destination Hatch.
