Below is a list of the latest road works in Stockport:
The Council will be resurfacing part of the carriageway on St Aldates, between approximately Highfield Avenue and number 1 St Aldates. The work is due to start on 12th February and is expected to take up to 5 days to complete. Unfortunately, to carry out this work it will be necessary to restrict traffic movements along this stretch with a temporary prohibition of driving (road closure) for through traffic, between 8.00am and 4.30pm daily.
Stockport Council will be resurfacing part of the carriageway on Roundcroft between approximately Compstall Road and Green Croft. The work is due to start on 13th February and is expected to take up to seven days to complete. Unfortunately to carry out this work it will be necessary to restrict traffic movements along this stretch as highlighted above with a temporary prohibition of driving (road closure) for through traffic, between 8.00am and 4.30pm daily.
Electricity North West will be carrying out works on Newbridge Lane in Portwood, from the junction with Carrington Road for approximately 80m, in an easterly direction. Works will take place on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th February.
National Grid Gas will be undertaking works on Church Road in Gatley, from the junction with Gatley Green to the junction with Styal Road. These works will require the use of multi-way signals and will take place from 12th February to 11th March, between 9.30am and 3.00pm daily.
Stockport Council will be carrying out carriageway resurfacing work on Lugano Road between Midland Road and Lucerne Road. The work is due to start on 10th February and is expected to take up to seven days to complete. Unfortunately to carry out this work it will be necessary to restrict traffic movements along this stretch as highlighted above with a temporary prohibition of driving (road closure) for through traffic, between 8.00am and 4.30pm daily.
British Telecom is undertaking work on Bridge Lane in Bramhall, close to the junctions with Walmer Drive and Headlands Road. These works require the use of two-way signals until 4th February, between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
Stockport Council will be undertaking works on Arkwright Road in Marple, from the junction with Station Road, for approximately 65m in a southerly direction. These works require the use of two-way signals and will take place from 3rd to 10th February, between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
Transport for Greater Manchester will be carrying out the following works on the traffic signals in the various locations in and around Portwood:
Carrington Road, Portwood – close to the junction with Offerton Street. These works will require the use of two-way signals, which will be in place on 11th and 12th February, from 9.30am to 3.00pm.
Carrington Road, Portwood – close to the junction with Brinnington Road. These works will require a lane closure, which will be in place on 12th and 13th February, from 11.00am to 3.00pm.
Great Portwood Street, Portwood – close to the junction with Garfield Street. These works will require a lane closure; which will be in place on 12th and 13th February, from 1.00pm to 3.00pm.
Brinnington Road, Portwood – close to the junction with St Pauls Street. These works will require a lane closure, which will be in place on 12th and 13th February, from 9.30am to 3.00pm.
St Marys Way, Portwood – close to the junction with Mersey Street. These works will require a lane closure, which will be in place on 13th and 14th February 2014, from 9.30am and 3.30pm.
