There is just under one month left for applications from good causes local to the Stockport area to apply for the annual Vernon Building Society Community Awards.
Applications are well under way with almost 40 submitted so far.
Now is your chance to join the list of many worthy causes who have received over £70,000 since the Community Awards began in 2012.
Previous winners include Stockport County Community Foundation, Beechwood Cancer Care and Millie’s Trust.
This year the Vernon are again offering £10,000 to local not-for-profit groups who operate within the local Stockport community. Applications will continue to be accepted until 17th August.
Once applications have closed, 14 organisations will be shortlisted as 2019 Community Awards finalists. Finalists will be awarded a minimum of £250 up to a maximum of £1500.
Director of Sales and Marketing Ian Keeling said: “Now entering the 8th year of our Community Awards, we are excited to support an additional 14 organisations and to help them bring benefit to Stockport and the local community.
“It was incredible to see the effect the funding had and continues to have on all of our 2018 finalists.”
Organisations can apply online via the Vernon Building Society website at www.thevernon.co.uk/apply or by filling out a paper application in one of their six local branches.
Organisations must be based in, or benefit, the postcode areas SK1, SK2, SK3, SK4, SK5, SK6, SK7, SK8 or SK12. Applications supporting individuals or individual sponsorships, political activities, promotion of religious causes, activities that benefit animals or commercial enterprises won’t be considered.
