Stockport renewable energy specialists, Kast Renewable Energies, have donated their mobile showroom truck to be used to offer patients and key workers coronavirus testing in Cheshire.
Kast responded to a plea for donations from East Cheshire GP practices who have grouped together to organise a Covid-19 Hot Clinic site at Wilmslow Health Centre.
Due to social distancing restrictions, Kast are unable to use their mobile showroom truck to demonstrate products to clients. The truck is now being used as a clinical area in the health centre car park to facilitate the assessment of suspected Covid-19 patients away from the health centre’s other users.
The clinic is being used by a network of GP practices in Chelford, Handforth, Alderley Edge and Wilmslow that have formed a Primary Care Network (PCN). The PCN in East Cheshire was one of the first in the country to set up a COVID-19 Hot Clinic site to facilitate the assessment of patients with suspected Covid-19 in a safe and efficient manner.
Alongside Kast, other local businesses have made generous donations to support the clinic. Senior Aerospace in Poynton have produced face-shields to use when treating patients, and Weetwood Distillery, near Chester, has shifted production to supply WHO Specification hand sanitiser which it has donated to the PCN’s clinic.
Felt the right thing to do as a business and help support the NHS as best we can. Our facility has enabled the practices to have a remote isolated area to operate in. Safe, secure and zero carbon as the unit is self sufficent and solar powered.
