Local law firm Pricketts with offices in Stockport and Buxton have joined forces with Edward Hands & Lewis solicitors, part of the EHL Group, to expand their offering to clients, bringing the number of total number of offices to 12 and employeeing over 130 staff.
This acquisition represents EHL Group’s largest acquisition to date, as they also include firms in Derbyshire, London and the Wirral
Jason Hathaway, Managing Director of EHL Group, said:
“We’re delighted to have Pricketts on board. We believe in the high street solicitor model on the basis that people buy from people and where they can, people buy locally. However, simply opening a local office does not guarantee business. We must offer clients convenience, value, service and expertise. The ever changing market place and the demands of increasing regulation means that size does matter. However we believe that the balance of being part of a large group and a small locally branded business with local connections and goodwill is the right strategy for legal services.”
Martin Wragg, Managing Partner of Pricketts, said:
“We’re thrilled to be on board with EHL Group and we’re very excited about being able to expand our service offering to our clients. The Legal industry has seen a lot of changes over the past 24 months and you’ve got to challenge the norm if you want to be successful. We strongly believe EHL Group do this and are embracing the changing market place.”
EHL Group was formed in 2013 and consists of several companies offering professional support services to businesses and services to individuals as well.
Paul Stubbs, Deputy Managing Director of EHL Group, said: “I am delighted with the addition of Pricketts which is an established name in the communities in which it operates. I am equally delighted that this deal has meant that all 16 jobs of Pricketts have been secured for the future.’
This is great news for Buxton and Stockport in terms of new jobs as the EHL Group has confirmed that it will be looking to add to the staff numbers in coming months to meet increasing demand across all services.
