As applications for the 2106 Stockport Business Awards are gathering pace, is your business up for the challenge?
Now in their 5th year, entries for Stockport Business Awards close at the end of May but you’ve still got plenty of time to submit your application.
The awards, organised by local accountancy practice Clarke Nicklin, are calling for companies to put themselves forward to ensure Stockport’s best businesses are uncovered and celebrated.
There are twelve categories in total, each one offering something slightly different and ensuring there is a category for every business.
The Most Promising Young Business award is sponsored by Clarke Nicklin Financial Planning, Partner Scott Herbert comments; “We’re delighted to sponsor this category which gives flourishing young businesses the chance to gain some recognition in their early years.” The category was won in 2015 by IN Accountancy.
The Retail Business of the Year Award is sponsored by Marketing Stockport. It will reward a business in any retail sector which successfully attracts and sells to its customers, whether that’s on the High Street or online. Last year’s winners were Bramhall Bakery.
Helen White, director of Marketing Stockport said; “Marketing Stockport is once again delighted to support the Stockport Business Awards and in particular the 2016 Retail Business of the Year. Where the bricks on the High Street once ‘owned’ the retail sector, growth from the ‘click’ generation means that £1 of every £5 earned by UK companies now comes from the internet.
That is why in Stockport it is so good to see independent shops succeeding and offering a unique kind of shopping experience supported by an upsurge in the local café culture.”
