Hazel Grove High School and Hursthead Junior School are to receive a share of a £370m million school buildings fund: Hazel Grove High School on Jacksons Lane and Hursthead Junior School in Cheadle Hulme will receive money from the Condition Improvement Fund*.
Local MP Mark Hunter said:
“This money is absolutely fantastic news for children, parents and teachers involved with Hazel Grove High and Hursthead Juniors” …. “It is much harder for teachers to teach and for children to learn when they are stuck in school buildings that aren’t up to scratch.
“Investing in these schools will give more of our local young people the opportunity to get the first class education they deserve.”
*The Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) replaces both the Academies Capital Maintenance Fund (ACMF) for academies and the Building Condition Improvement Fund (BCIF) for sixth-form colleges and brings together a single route for these institutions to apply for capital works.
